Overview

Livingston Place Assisted Living is an Assisted Living facility that is dedicated to offering affordable personalized care to aging adults 60 years old. Livingston Place offers residents in-house dining services, the Dining Services Server is responsible for the delivery of services provided by the Food Service Department. The Server coordinates and communicates with all food services and other team members in maintaining a holistic perspective of care and services for each resident. The Server is responsible for assisting the Dining Services team in preparation, presentation of highest quality meals and service, and to perform duties as required for the smooth operation of the Dining Services Department.

Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • As directed, perform all dietary services mentioned in the Resident Handbook and Care Plan

    • Support food services programs that will stimulate and maximize the unique interests and attributes for each resident

    • Promptly resolve any potential food services and care coordination problems with all involved team members and team leaders

    • Under the direction of the supervisor, assist all food service personnel in whatever manner necessary to properly serve the residents. Fill drinking glasses as needed. Set and reset all tables in dining room as needed

    • Monitor salad bar, beverage and service stations, refilling as directed

    • Help the cook with serving all meals; assist in cleaning dining room tables and dining area if necessary upon request by supervisor

    • Wash all utensils, chinaware, eating silverware and glassware for reset of the dining area; wash and dry coffee pots and clean coffee urn to include the beverage bar and additional areas as assigned

    • Clean up entire dish room, including washing floor mats, draining and cleaning dishwasher and shining stainless steel. Clean and organize janitor's closet. Sweep and mop dish room and kitchen floors, storage areas, the employee break room and delivery entrance as scheduled or requested by management. Vacuum dining room floor as needed

    • Deliver room service trays as instructed

    • Present a professional demeanor that communicates to current and prospective residents the corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine interest in the resident’s unique needs

    • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Minimum of 1 years of relative professional experience in high volume dining services.

  • ServSafe Certified required.
  • CPR Certified highly preferred, but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.

  • English language skills adequate to allow communication with residents and staff, and to understand written and verbal instructions.

  • Has familiarity and willingness to work with the elderly population.

  • Must be able to routinely follow written and verbal instructions

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For Washington DC this ranges from $37,336 - $39,520 plus benefits and retirement program.
