Job Description:

Summary:

An Animal Behavior Assistant is a specialized professional responsible for studying and interpreting the behavior of animals, both individually and in groups. They utilize a range of scientific methods and observational techniques to gather data and provide actionable insights. The goal is to understand the evolutionary, genetic, and environmental factors that influence animal behavior, ultimately contributing to the fields of biology, zoology, and psychology. This role involves a mix of hands-on work with animals, data analysis, and often collaboration with other scientists, veterinarians, and animal care professionals.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct detailed behavioral studies.

  • Publish research findings in scientific journals.

  • Design and conduct experiments to test behavioral hypotheses.

  • Analyze and interpret behavioral data using statistical software.

  • Present findings at scientific conferences and workshops.

  • Advise on the ethical treatment and care of animals.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Part-time.

  • 20 hours per week.

Salary Range:

  • $17.95 per hour.
