I. JOB OVERVIEW
| Job Description Summary: | The Division of Safety & Operations brings together Campus Operations, Campus Safety, Campus Development, Real Estate, and University Venues to strategically support GW now and into the future. Given the many close connections and strong working relationships among these areas, this organizational structure streamlines university services, increases shared insights and collaboration, and optimizes GW resources. Campus Development is seeking a Senior Project Manager to be part of the team. Campus Development supports campus planning, space planning, and construction project management for the University. For more information, please go to our webpage: facilities.gwu.edu The Senior Project Manager will lead project teams that include, but are not limited to, external consultants, such as architects and engineers, and general contractors supported by internal partners, such as, the design review team, the campus planning team, and the end users. The Senior Project Manager reports to the Assistant Vice President (“AVP”), Campus Development. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position. |

| Minimum Qualifications: | Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study plus 3 years of relevant professional experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |

Campus Development is seeking a Senior Project Manager to be part of the team. Campus Development supports campus planning, space planning, and construction project management for the University. The Senior Project Manager will lead project teams that include, but are not limited to, external consultants, such as architects and engineers, and general contractors supported by internal partners, such as, the design review team, the campus planning team, and the end users. The Senior Project Manager reports to the Assistant Vice President (“AVP”), Campus Development. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Serves as a business manager and project point of contact for the University on real estate development projects at various locations. Manages campus development projects, to include, base buildings, large scale renovation projects of various sizes, and feasibility studies. Typically leads a portfolio of projects with a total value over $25 million, with complex strategic and regulatory issues. Assists the AVP, Campus Development in developing team policies, procedures, methodologies, and project financial reporting/tracking tools. Operates with substantial latitude in dealing with University and third party business partners and customers. Escalates issues to AVP, Campus Development, as needed. Develops, reviews, and manages contracts with external vendors/contractors. Ensures that the contract(s) scope and fees are maintained. Develops and manages project budgets and schedules. Researches, evaluates, and analyzes data to support project decisions. Submits project recommendations to management for approval. Mentors others on the Campus Development team. Ensures that all project work is in compliance with established initiatives, including but not limited to the Campus Plan(s), the Historic Preservation Plan, and Streetscape Plan. Serves as liaison to various internal University departments. Contributes to the goals of the Division of Safety and Operations by sharing knowledge and resources and by coordinating work product with others. Serve on committees and working groups to provide and receive feedback on development and other operational issues. Enhances professional knowledge and skills by attending seminars, workshops, and training sessions. Performs other related duties as assigned.
